DATE : Open from May 22 to September 25, 2000. Metaponto is located in south eastern Italy, close to Matera and Taranto and 120km from Brindisi on the Marini di Pisticci. Metaponto is very much a family village with especially good facilities for babies and toddlers who are welcome from 4 months old. Activities for the older children are organised by the Mini Club and include tennis, sailing, windsurfing and archery (depending on age). A Circus School welcomes both children and adults and if you have a head for heights, you can learn to fly the high trapeze, or simply juggle and generally clown around! A small train will take you around the village and through the pine trees to the vast sandy beach where you will find the sailing and windsurfing teams. A multitude of other sports are also available including no less than 18 tennis courts, archery, a variety of keepfit classes, volleyball. A popular choice for our Italian clientele, Metaponto has a very Italian atmosphere with its own stylish Italian speciality restaurant. Take time out from village life to explore this unusually flat part of Italy with our excursions programme (extra cost), or hire a car and you could venture as far as Naples or Pompeii.
